LAHORE: Punjab’s interim government set up is set to witness an extension, with four more ministers planning to take oath in a ceremony scheduled to be held at 3 p.m in the Governor House in Lahore on Friday.
The addition of Saeedullah Babar, Chaudhry Faisal, Noman Kabir, and Tanveer Ilyas will see the number of ministers in the interim setup increase to 10.
Babar will serve as the minister of Environment Protection and Cooperatives, while Mr. Ilyas will serve as the minister for Planning and Development, Agriculture, and Food.
Kabir, meanwhile will serve as the Minister for Labor and Human Resource and the Transportation Department, while Mushtaq will be the interim minister for education.
The initial cabinet comprising six members had taken oath on the 11th of June, and included former chairman WAPDA Zafar Mahmood, former president Lahore chamber Anjum Nisar, former IG Punjab Shaukat Javed, Dr Jawad Sajid, Zia Haider Rizvi and Waqas Riaz, with Dr. Hasan Askari Rizvi serving as the caretaker Chief Minister.
The interim set up is responsible for overseeing the run up to the elections, which will be held on the 25th of July.
