ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah Sunday contacted Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi for consultation on the caretaker setup ahead of the upcoming general elections.
According to a PTI spokesman, the opposition leader discussed with Qureshi names for the caretaker prime minister. He said that PTI would suggest names for caretaker prime minister and provincial chief ministers after internal consultations.
According to a press statement issued by the PPP, Shah approached Qureshi to discuss the interim setup in the Centre as well as the provinces. “PTI will soon forward the names of its nominees for the caretaker prime minister and the chief ministers to the opposition leader,” the PPP statement read. PTI Chairman Imran Khan has reportedly chaired a meeting recently in which the party decided to actively take part in the process of installation of the caretaker government ahead of general elections.
