PESHAWAR: The courts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa witnessed a boycott at the hands of the lawyers on Thursday who were protesting the attack on the vehicle of civil judges that occurred a day earlier.
While talking to media at the Peshawar High Court, lawyers expressed their apprehensions about the attack and asked for how long will the attacks continue. The lawyers were of the opinion that such attacks would continue unless and until the National Action Plan is fully implemented.
The lawyers were had gathered at the Peshawar High Court for an emergency meeting called by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Association.
In September 2016, the attack on Mardan district court claimed the lives of at least 13 people. Two bomb explosions had occurred in the courts then. Among the deceased were two policemen and four lawyers.
