ISLAMABAD: Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousuf said that Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) should be given proper authority to block websites containing blasphemous contents.
Addressing a news conference on Thursday, he said the ministry received 8670 letters as complaints against the appearance of blasphemous contents on the social media adding that PTA was accordingly informed about this.
Yousuf said that action was taken against 700 websites containing objectionable contents and out of these 565 were blocked adding that a special cell is also working in the ministry to address the issue of objectionable contents found on the internet.
