KHARAN: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday said that Nawaz Sharif is another name for progress and that development does not come through false promises.
“Nawaz Sharif is synonymous to progress. When we (PML-N) took over in 2013, the situation in Balochistan was unsatisfactory and in our tenure we have engineered exemplary progress in the province,” PM Abbasi said while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Kharan-Yakmach road.
He added that the PML-N government has constructed a network of roads in the province and that the day when Balochistan would be ‘the richest province of Pakistan’ is not far away.
The PM continued that democracy will prevail in the country and that the Pakistan Armed Forces have offered great sacrifices to establish peace in the country. “We have to ensure that peace and development go hand-in-hand,” PM Abbasi added.
Referring to the general elections 2018, the premier said that Pakistan’s fate will be decided on July 5. “On one hand, there is politics of curses and abuses, while on the other hand, there is politics of serving the public and progress. The public has rejected the former and will rejected them on July 5 too,” he added.
He also questioned those criticising government’s tax reforms saying that “I ask those who oppose our tax reforms; do you even pay taxes or not?”. Abbasi continued that the government has lowered the tax percentage so more people pay the taxes.
