KARACHI:Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday congratulated the newly-elected office-bearers of Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ).
In a message, the PPP chairman congratulated President Hasan Mansoor, General Secretary Faheem Siddiqui and other newly-elected office-bearers. Bilawal stated that strengthening democratic traditions among the journalist organisations was good omen for the country and democracy.
He appreciated all the candidates who contested the elections in a truly democratic manner and hoped that those who won the election will take the entire journalist community of the metropolitan along for protection of freedom of press and expression.
Bilawal said that journalists are the eyes of society and their role as independent and impartial is admired in every society.
