Police arrested seven accused including two proclaimed offenders on Sunday and recovered narcotics and weapons from them.
Police said that during an ongoing drive against drug peddlers and criminals, teams of different police stations conducted raids in their jurisdiction and arrested alleged criminals and recovered 520-gram hashish, 50 liters of liquor, two pistols and a gun.
The accused were identified as Ahsan, Imran, Irfan, Ashraf, Nasir, Bilal and Badar. Cases have been registered against them.
Dense fog engulfs Sargodha city
District city and its adjoining areas faced dense fog on Sunday which decreased visibility level by seven to ten meters.
According to a spokesperson, the fog started at late hours of Saturday night and continued till Sunday morning, decreasing visibility level and increasing coldness in the weather. The local Met Office has forecast more fog for district for next 24 hours.The highest maximum temperature 21 centigrade and the lowest minimum 08 centigrade were recorded during last 24 hours.
The fog has also been forecast for other districts of Sargodha division.
Three rustlers held
Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested three members of a cattle thief gang including its ringleader and recovered cattle from their possession. On the direction of DPO Muhammad Faisal Kamran, a team of Bhagtanwala police station arrested ringleader Safdar and his two accomplices, identified as Siyam Safdar and Zubair, and recovered six stolen cows and two buffaloes worth Rs 2.4 million. The accused were wanted by police in many cases of cattle theft.
An investigation is underway.
